The phoenix has landed...
I live in Nairobi, Kenya, where I am working in the field of HIV/AIDS relief. While the work can be rewarding, it's also fraught with maddening bureaucratic pitfalls, and has sent me far from my partner (thatcrazycajun.) Two of my three cats live with me here; the third, and my partner, remain in Atlanta.
As I settle into my new life overseas, I invite you to come along for the journey.
Of late, I find that I am peeling away the obscuring layers, trying to allow the fire within to illuminate the life I live, the work I do. The phoenix is the sign of renewal and transformation, and it is that legacy I wish to leave – to in some small way touch the world with passion enough to make a difference.
